Juicing Efficiency

The manufacturer completely redesigned its Omega 4000 juicer model to come out with the best big mouth juicer on the market.

The Omega BMJ 330 is operated by a 350-Watt (1/2 horsepower) motor that spins the blade and filter at 11 000 rpm for fast, efficient juice extraction from a wide range of produce.

Thoughtful design and precision engineering have been put into the making of the Omega BMJ 330: a combination of the ideal speed, bowl dimensions and shape, and mesh size have been found for maximum juice extraction.

The increased filter area also aids in obtaining more juice from the same amount of produce.

According to independent tests, the Omega Big Mouth Juicer yields 20% more juice from carrots than other similar centrifugal pulp ejection juicers

The juicer bowl is well balanced to prevent pulp sticking in it and causing the machine to vibrate.

The innovative helical design of the lid lowers the chance of pulp accumulation in the chute, preventing clogging.

The feed chute is round shape with 3″ diameter and a medium size apple fits in whole, eliminating the need for cutting up. Wide feed chute juicers are popular in today’s accelerated life because you quickly toss in a few well-washed apples, peeled oranges, whole celery, a few sticks of carrots, and you can enjoy a rich, fresh juice in a few minutes.

The motor and the whole machine is sturdy with all major parts made of surgical quality stainless steel.

The juicer bowl is sleek, polished stainless steel from the outside and sandblasted from the inside for easy, fast clean up. The blade is heavy stainless steel construction (weighs 1/2 lbs.) for better grinding and juice extraction.

What Does it Juice?

It handles very well

  • all sorts of harder fruits (apples, pears),
  • citrus fruits, and
  • root veggies (carrot, celery, beetroot).

It juices leafy greens to some extent, especially those with higher water content (lettuce). Note that centrifugal juicers aren’t designed for greens and wheatgrass in the first place, for this job an auger juicer – either single-gear or a twin-gear – is the best choice

Using the Omega Big Mouth Juicer

The Omega BMJ330 centrifugal juicer is one the easiest to use and clean. It is very straightforward to put together the parts.

Once you adjust the cantilever safety latch arms and plug in the machine, you can start popping in fruits and veggies through the large feed tube, helping them down with the plunger and the juice starts immediately to flow out the stainless steel spout into a glass or jar you placed under it. The heavy-duty blade and the large filter surface do a highly efficient job.

The juice is a bit frothy due to the high speed, but this is the case with all other high-RPM juicers. You have to compromise fastness and convenient use with juice quality. Drink the juice right after it comes out the juicer to prevent oxidation and get the most nutritional benefits.

One big downside of the Omega Big Mouth units according to some users is that it is very messy: it spits juice from the spout and lekas at the back where the pulp comes out into the pulp collector.

The receptacle has large opening so that all parts are easy to access and clean with hand. The inside is sandblasted stainless steel that resists staining and is simple to clean. A quick rinse in running water right after you finished juicing will do the work.

A plastic refuse liner can be placed in the pulp bin to save cleaning it.

Due to the stainless steel construction the parts are dishwasher safe.

Conclusion – For Whom We Recommend the Omega Big Mouth Juicer?

The Omega BMJ330 is a good-value juicer in its own category (high-speed, automatic pulp ejection juicers with big feed tube) and if you’re looking for a model that is very convenient to use and can quickly make high volume of juice then it is an ideal choice. If your priority is not juicing leafy greens but mainly apples, carrots, cucumber and beets then again this machine is ideal.

Compared to the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite – a quality but a bit over-hyped and (-priced) centrifugal unit – the Omega offer the same value for less money. For example the Omega model carries 10-year warranty, while the Breville comes with only 3-year warranty on the motor, and 1 year warranty on other parts and it can cost $30 – $80 more (depending on store) than the Omega Big Mouth.
